Blink-182 Goes Back to School in New Video for 'Darkside'

The band learns 'dances we don't know'

August 28, 2019

One dancing pre-teen, dressed in a red shirt and black pants, methodically becomes an entire class-worth of identically-clad students who cheer on blink-182 in their newly-released video for “Darkside.”

Clever camera work and choreography highlight the clip, which takes place in a school gym and on the playground. Students flank Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and Matt Skiba while doing all the popular social media dances of the time – or as the band wrote on twitter: “dances we don’t know.”

“Darkside” is the fourth preview from blink-182’s forthcoming new studio album. NINE will be released on September 20th and is available for pre-order now.

The Southern California pop punk legends told us recently the new effort will be a culmination of everything they’ve learned so far.

"I think we're taking everything that we've done in the past and building on it.
Which is what we want to always be doing" Hoppus said. "I think it's a good combination of fast punk rock stuff, modern production, and taking a lot of risks and experimentation."

Blink-182 remains on tour with Lil Wayne until the end of September. The band will then play the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento on October 12th. Get their full touring schedule here.
