Highand Athletics:
Enjoy feats of astonishing strength and skill! The tradition of Scottish athletic games dates back to the period of Roman invasions in the 2nd and 3rd centuries. Highland Games were employed by the ancient chieftains and kings to test the agility, cunning and physical strength of their clansmen. The victors of these trials were then awarded positions of leadership both on the battlefield and in the clan.

Highland dancing:
Scots were dancing to celebrate war and victory when the Romans arrived in Britain in the First Century. In the 2,000 years since that invasion, the warlike dances of the Scottish Highlands have been refined into a highly technical art form. Strength and grace combine to yield dancers who are capable of making the dances not only look easy, but enjoyable. The dances themselves are divided into two categories: The Highland dances, which are more militaristic and always performed with the dancers in kilts; and the Scottish National dances, which are smoother and more flowing and various costumes are worn.

Check out the broad selection of celtic themed vendors and Clan groups!
